Responsibilities:
- Market, promote, and sell electronic security, access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm system installations, and other low voltage solutions to commercial end users in a manner that meets or exceeds department profit objectives.
- Perform surveys of premises and interpret bid documents, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements and costs, including equipment, cabling, and labor, and assess cost effectiveness and profitability to make complete and accurate estimates.
- Design systems and prepare quotes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and cost effectiveness in accordance with customer expectations and profitability goals of the department.
- Propose, follow up, and close targeted opportunities within the scope of a sales assignment to increase sales volume and meet individual sales goals.
- Expand client base through cold-calling, prospecting, and business relationships while maintaining existing customer relationships to increase sales volume consistent with the department’s marketing objectives and sales plan.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with prospects, customers, and team members within the company
- Review job cost reports as required to ensure margin and profit objectives are achieved.
- Maintain correct and complete records of all sales-related activities. Prepare and submit all required sales reports, expenses, and correspondence in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assess the need for subcontracted labor and obtain competitive quotations from required subcontractors.
Special Activities:
- Review sales performance, goals, and objectives with the Security Department Manager periodically and annually to assess developmental progress and achievement.
- Participate and provide input on any business process improvements that will increase the operational effectiveness of the Security Department and entire company.
- Participate in further education and training courses.
- Participate in extra-curricular associations for marketing purposes.
Qualifications:
- College or Technical Degree Preferred
- Experience selling Electronic Security systems to commercial end-users preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic security, access control, IP video, Intrusion, and other low voltage systems along with a working knowledge of industry and competitive brands.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Very highly motivated with a strong drive and determination to succeed.
- Ability to perform independently.
- Ability to persuade and close sales.
- Ability to handle a variety of situations encountered during the sales process and disciplined enough to work with limited supervision.
- Sales quota achievement as well as development of sales strategies to exceed goals.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background verification check.
